George, who is entering the final year of his contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, has been linked to the Warriors for several months. The Warriors are reportedly interested in acquiring George via an opt-in and trade scenario, which would allow them to sign him to a max contract without giving up any significant assets.
The Warriors' interest in George is no surprise, as he is one of the best players in the NBA. George is a four-time All-Star and three-time All-NBA selection. He averaged 24.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game last season.
If the Warriors are able to sign George, it would give them one of the most formidable rosters in the NBA. George would join Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, forming a core that would be virtually unstoppable.
